Your beginning to the art world

So you've just opened your canister to find some rolled paper... This can seem like an impossible task but paper is very workable.

You need to take a spray bottle of water and spray down the outside of the paper curl. This will loosen the stretched fibers, making it easier to manage.

Next, you must find a flat, hard surface and a flat heavy object. (A table and a large book work great) Now you need to smoosh the paper between the two and wait til it is completely dry.

Alternatively, if you are impatient like me, you can spray down the outside and tape the corners to a flat surface using a blow dryer on its lowest heat setting (not cool if you don't want it to take forever), and blow dry the paper from about 10 inches away. This will leave you with a few more wrinkles than the first method but it will be much faster.

Now that your paper is flat, I'd recommend taking a glance at the mediums page, there are tutorials and tips to get started on your first amazing project. And if you have any questions about the info you find here, feel free to contact me.
